Councillor Vacancy
Your Parish needs you! If you are passionate about Bishampton or Throckmorton, or both, and can give up just one evening a month, why not become a Parish Councillor? There is currently a vacancy. The Parish Council has an annual budget of £23,000. The PC supports community groups and local businesses. Councillors promote what is best about the parish and, when necessary, campaign against unwarranted and unwanted developments likes the super camp for asylum seekers. And we get the grass verges cut! If you are interested please call Anne Boocock on 462551 or the Chairman, Eric Carter on 462847.

The vacancy arises because of the lamentable resignation of Annette Bufton. Annette has done Stirling service for the community for the past five years. She will be sorely missed.

Dog Bins
On a more humdrum note, more poop-and-scoop dog bins will be making their appearance soon. There was such enthusiasm over a "buy one, get one free" offer from Wychavon Council that the Parish Council decided to buy four receptacles. If you feel strongly about where the bins should go, let us know.

Highways
Several Parish Councils had a moderately successful meeting with the Highways Partnership recently. The roads agency admitted that there had been a funding bias towards A roads in past years. However, now they were going to concentrate more on B and C roads. The long-term deterioration of road surfaces is not confined to our parish and the list of works to be done is long. The Highways Partnership assured us they would be looking at our black spots as soon as possible. In particular, Hill Furze road might soon get a visit from their new Tar Jet machine, which fills holes 10 times faster and ten times cheaper. Let's hope the patches don't fall out ten times faster too. The message was keep them informed of pots holes (preferably Xs on maps) and we are more likely to see action.

Grass Cutting
The grass-cutting contract has been extended to cover the new area behind the Villages Hall at £5 per cut. Money well spent on the overspill car park.
