BISHAMPTON AND THROCKMORTON PARISH COUNCIL
PARISH COUNCIL NEWS: SEPTEMBER 2004
Damage to Pavements
There have been two recent incidents
of farm vehicles and equipment seriously damaging the pavements in the
Bishampton. Both incidents have been reported to Wychavon DC who will consider
if they have sufficient grounds to pursue the offenders fro recompense. In
the meantime could parishioners please be aware of any such incidents involving
farm or other vehicles damaging the pavements and record details such as
registration, time, date and a photo if possible. For the moment please pass
the details to either the Clerk to the Parish (Anne Boocock) or the Chairman
(Eric Carter).
It is also worth mentioning, yet again, that parishioners are still parking their own vehicles on the pavements which, aside from the damage this incurs, also obstructs the path for pushchairs, wheelchairs and in some cases even the pedestrians! Whilst this may not be of serious impact to adults, children returning from school are, at times, forced on to the road. The police have been asked to monitor the situation and, as I am sure everyone is aware, parking on the pavement is illegal.
Dog Bins
Alas
despite the council agreeing to site further dog bins around the village,
there will be something of a delay as Wychavon have run out for this financial
year. However, be assured the council will keep this item on the agenda for
next year.
Village Signpost
Wychavon
have assured the council that this in hand and will be dealt with shortly – dated
19 th August. Likewise the post at the Abberton road fork is in hand and
the one on Hill Furze Road has been completed
Grit Bin
The council
is to ask for a grit bin in the centre of the village next to the litter
bin by the village seat. It is hoped that one can be acquired in other than
dayglow yellow!
Paddocks Broad Lane
In
view of the concern that this planning application has raised you may like
to be aware that the application was refused by Wychavon DC. Bishampton and
throckmorton Parish Council had raised on a number of grounds.
