Vacancy
Councillors were sorry to hear that the vice chairman, Cllr. Beryl Lammas, had to resign as councillor, following her move away from the village. Members paid tribute to the great contribution Cllr. Lammas made to the community in her role as councillor.

This now leaves a vacancy on the parish council and members will likely be looking to co-opt a new colleague. Contact the clerk if you are interested.

Play Areas
A swing seat in the teen play area has been vandalised – cut with a knife, it seems. It is still useable but members hope parents can remind their children to treat the equipment and the play area, with respect.

Drains
Our parish lengthsman, Dean Gibson, has been inspecting the drains in the parish and reporting any which appear to be blocked. Contact the clerk if you know of any which need attention.

Speeding
Watch your speed as you travel through the parish – police speed checks have been requested in a bid to slow drivers down, particularly as they enter and leave the villages.

Next Meeting
The next meeting of the council is scheduled for Monday, November 5th, at Throckmorton Parish Room. All Parish Council meetings begin with an open forum session for people to raise issues/ideas for consideration by the council.
