HOUSING
As part of the ongoing consultation into where new housing and employment land should be sited in the county, Qinetiq, which owns the main Throckmorton airfield site, has, without any notification to local councils, put in a bid to develop that site and the Marshalls and Drummonds site with 2,500 homes. This means it will be considered by the Government as part of the regional development strategy next year. The PC and Cllr Liz Tucker will be following the issue closely.

ALLOTMENTS
The council has received another request from someone wanting an allotment. Parish allotments are put to grazing at present, but the man concerned said he would be willing to make use of some other land – perhaps someone has too much garden land to manage or some land where they feel an allotment could be set up? Contact the clerk if you feel you could help and you will be put in touch. Also, contact the clerk if you would like an allotment and a longer term scheme could possibly be considered.

FLOOD ALLEVIATION
Councillors have met with the head of Wychavon District Council to press for swifter consideration of the flood alleviation scheme which has been on the WDC books for several years following the floods ten years ago. A flood action plan has been prepared by Wychavon for the parish and the council is pushing for this to be followed up by some action soon.

REQUESTS
Warning signs to make the roads safer for horse riders and dog bins for Gunnings Lane are two requests the PC has received. Both of these have been put to the relevant authorities and it is hoped they can be installed.

COMMUNITY FIRST RESPONDERS
Two new members have joined the scheme and now there are five trained responders to provide emergency first aid coverage in parish. (The scheme is run by the ambulance service – always dial 999 and a local responder will be sent if available). Anyone else who would like to talk about training for the scheme can contact the clerk to be put in touch.

Next Meeting
The next meeting of the council is scheduled for Monday, December 1st, at Throckmorton Parish Room. Watch the notice boards for details of the agenda. All Parish Council meetings begin with an open forum session for people to raise issues/ideas for consideration by the council.
