BISHAMPTON AND THROCKMORTON PARISH COUNCIL
PARISH COUNCIL NEWS: SEPTEMBER 2008
FLOODS
Cllrs Argyle, Tucker and Cheetham have studied the initial flood action plan
produced for the parish by Wychavon District Council. They are in talks with
the Wychavon officers and are presenting the parish council’s own road/water
level survey of Broad Lane as part of their submission in response to the plan.
FIRST RESPONDER SCHEME
This scheme was initially funded by the parish council and it has already saved
lives. Now members have agreed to fund partial payment for another kit so that
cover can be increased in the area. Sincere thanks go to all those who are part
of the scheme.
VILLAGE SERVICES
Members are in talks about the future of the village shop and pub with all people
involved – see the PC newsletter for more information.
BUS SERVICE
Residents raised the issue of the lack of public transport serving Bishampton.
It is hoped that a representative from the county transport department will
be able to come and speak at a meeting soon. If so, notices will be posted so
that interested people can come along to hear him speak.
