FLYING
Volunteers from the Sky Watch Civil Air Patrol visited the February meeting to talk about their service. They are going to apply for permission to site their operation at the Throckmorton airfield, near Marshalls Transport. The group flies microlight aircraft to supplement the work of the emergency services and for example, is called upon to monitor floods, search for people needing help or find missing people. It plans to site its aircraft as well as an operations caravan and a storage unit on the airfield. You can find out more about the group at www.skywatchcivilairpatrol.org.uk

AFFORDABLE HOUSING
District council planners have looked at Bishampton with a view to identifying possible sites for affordable housing. Officers are due to attend the March PC meeting to talk about their findings.

PLANS
The recent plan to further extend Willow Bank residential home in Tilesford, refused by Wychavon District Council, is going to appeal. Details can be viewed at the Wychavon District Council website, ref W/08/02700/PN.

WIND TURBINES
The Parish Council has been consulted on the initial stages of the Scottish Power wind turbines plan. A representative from the PC has met with other local PC members for informal talks about the issue. At present, there is a plan to site a temporary wind monitoring mast, for three years, on two sites in the Lenches. For more information, see the Wychavon DC website, where it is listed under ‘planning applications’. Ref W/08/03234/PN. Online comments can be made.

Next Meeting
The next meeting of the council is scheduled for Monday, March 2nd, at Bishampton Villages Hall. Watch the notice boards for details of the agenda. All Parish Council meetings begin (7.30pm) with an open forum session for people to raise issues/ideas for consideration by the council.
