ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
Throckmorton’s Annual Parish Meeting took place on June 1st. No parishioners turned out for the event but the council was introduced to the new Parish Paths Warden, Mr Gordon Kingston. He reported that he was in the process of surveying all the paths to see what improvements could be made.

AIRFIELD
The planned development of the Qinetiq, Marshalls and Drummonds land on the airfield into a new community of around 2,500 homes with a school and shops was one subject raised at the parish meeting. Qinetiq is holding consultation events when you can learn more about the plans and express your opinion. These are planned to take place at Throckmorton Parish Room on July 1st (2-6.30pm), at Pershore Town Hall on July 2nd (12.30-5.30pm) and at Pinvin Memorial Hall on July 3rd (3.30pm-7.30pm).

GRANTS
The PC donated £250 to the Wychavon Citizens Advice Bureau, in recognition of the important service it offers without charge, especially in the current difficult financial times. It also donated £100 to The Bobby Club, a voluntary service run by the police which promotes traffic and community safety in local schools.

CRIME
The local officer, PC Stuart Toms, reported on crime in the parish over the previous year. He said there had been five recorded crimes in Throckmorton, increased from two the previous year. Three of them were vehicle crimes, one was an assault and one a minor theft.
In Bishampton, there had been nine crimes reported in 2008-9, compared to 19 in 2007-8. There had been one house burglary, one non-dwelling burglary, three vehicle crimes, one assault and three other crimes.
