Appendix 3: The Public Consultation Meetings

Two consultation meetings were held. These lasted from 2.00pm to 9.00pm on the 8th & 9th of January.

The meetings were publicised by public notice and also by delivery of a leaflet to each house in the parish. The leaflet invited anyone with problems in attending to contact one of the organisers for assistance, and gave the names and telephone numbers of all the Parish Plan Steering Group members.

The leaflets, and handouts at the meetings, explained that the consultations were to enable the Parish to put views to the Local Plan Inquiry in advance of completing the Parish Plan. See appendix 4.

All those who attended were asked to sign a ‘Visitors Book’, in addition to giving their views. People could give their views both by writing comments on slips of paper and placing these in the pockets provided; and by signing the Agree/Disagree forms relating to the three issues

In addition to residents of Bishampton & Throckmorton Parish, two or three people from surrounding parishes attended at each meeting: their numbers are excluded from this analysis.
